P attacks me, I want to attack P!
« on: October 04, 2003, 10:19:51 PM »
Hi,

Just wondering but my P is coming back for it's winter stay now and is at present only quite mild.  What strategy should I pursue to keep it beaten down (ha! as if that might be poss!?) ???

Should I hit it with some strong treatments first and then wean myself off (eg elocon)?  Or should I only step up treatments when it gets even worse?  Am currently using moisturiser (of course), coal tar and silkis.

I just don't want to let it have it's own way this time! >:(

i wouldnt hit it hard when its mild han i would just try to keep on top of it with loads of moisturisers and maybe a very mild steroid.  if you attack it u could rebound and that would be worse in the long run.

I agree with karen,
don't hit it too hard at first (coal tar usually is poweful enough), but keep a close eye on it... and when it's trying to attac - you shoot first ;D

I agree with Karen, if you start out light you can always go later with the heavy stuff. Just remember that one of the most stressful times in life is moving, so that may account for your p flaring right now. Good luck, Han :)

Hi Han - i've been thinking the same thing - as i'm mild at the moment and really just want to keep it at bay as we move into winter.  I've been having some of the old polytar baths and cling filming my head with hemp oil - definitly seems to keep my scalp in an ok state
