Plaques Creepin Back
« on: July 18, 2002, 10:46:10 PM »
Hey Guys

As many of you know I finished my UVB treatment a while back (beginning of June) well I’ve had a few weeks of clear skin but the plaques are back, Arrrrrggggggghhh!

I had plaques appear on my knuckles, which have for some reason disappeared again, my stomach is still clear not a sign but my elbows have started developing more and more.  It’s not too bad just now but I’ve noticed over the past week that plaques are popping up rapidly.  The main reason I have noticed today is that I’m scratching!!

I’ve only been using 50/50 and I’m not sure whether to start using Exorex or any other P cream / ointment.  I’m in the way of thinking that the creams bring back the P quicker.  Does anyone else think this?

Should I or shouldn’t I start the creams again?

Anna

Sorry to hear that the P is slowly creeping back.  I do not use a lot of prescription creams anymore, I have come to the conclusion over the years, that all they do is make it last longer, as they hold it back, but eventually the P wins.  I believe, P has a course to run, and the quicker it comes out on you, the quicker it will go as well.  That's why now, I just stick to moisturisers, to help the soreness and keep the skin supple.  I use creams if a little bit starts to appear on face, or some private parts, as moisturisers, dont do a lot for me in these areas.

I've been using Exorex on some areas and it seems to be doing the trick. Just persevere - and get out in this Indian Summer we are suposed to be having over the next few weeks. I really envy anyone who can go out in the sun so enjoy it for me  :)

Sorry to hear that Anna. Try and stay positive about it and don't let it get you down too much. I too am like Peter, staying away from most steroids now as I used Dovobet and had massive rebound. Don't know what the easy answer is kiddo but keep the smile on!

I'm sorry Anna.
Well you know that's the way it is. An endless nightmare.
I have to say I'm getting to the point to fully agree with Peter.
As more ointments and creams I try as more it seems to me they work basicly like a moisturizer.
Don't let it get to you. Go to the BAR or have some good wine!

What a bummer Anna.  Well first thing is get out in the sun, grab a cool summer drink and chill for a bit.
I kinda of agree with you about laying off the creams for as long as possible  - although I reckon some exorex on top of lots of moisturiser might do some good - its a tough call though.
I'm finding neutrogena body lotion is doing great things for me at the mo.

Got everything crossed for you chuck.

I’ve decided not to start using any P creams / ointments for the time being, Sticking with the moisturisers.  Totally agree about stressing and positive thinking.
