PLEASE HELP! Protopic mistaken for lubricant
« on: March 10, 2010, 09:59:54 PM »
Hello sorry but I am very distressed at the moment.
I use protopic cream for my psoriasis and it sounds crazy but i was in the dark with my partner and i grabbed it mistaking it for lubricant for my partner. After a bit i realised something wasn't right. i told her and she pannicked and jumped in the shower. it was probably on her vaginal area for max about 5 mins but i know its not meant to be used internally. just pannicking a bit and angry at myself for being such a fool. Do you think it's ok. she is in no discomfort at all. Please let me know if you know as i'm feeling so guilty. We contacted a medical advice line who said it almost certainly should be ok but I thought some of you might know even better. Thank you

Given the length of time she was exposed to it and that it was a one off I would think she is ok with nothing to worry about!

Don't give yourself a hard time over it, it was an accident and accident's happen!  Just put it somewhere not to easy to grab next time  ;)

Bless you both...and I can imagine you feel guilty. So you should...keep those medications away from children, pets and sexual activity!

I am sure she is fine also...really.

Just tell her to keep her fanny away from bright sunlight for a few days  ;)

You should use vasaline much safer.

Stick it on the door handles, stops the kids opening the door 8)

All joking apart a low amount of contact time should not cause an issue. However next time try "pre-heating the oven" a little bit longer to help get the natural lubricant flowing ;)

I'm sorry, Rapidfire - that was insensitive of me to giggle...

I'm sure your OH's foo won't suffer any long term effects from it, it was a very short period to have been exposed to it.  :(
