Regular sunbeds?
« on: July 21, 2009, 03:16:09 PM »
Is there a reason why I should not use a regular sunbed at the moment? I am having no treatment until I start MTX in a weeks time. I went yesterday and p seems a little better this afternoon.

well I know that it's not good for you long term especially when you're faired skinned as I am but when I'm well enough I do go 2-3 times a week for 5-6 mins a time and it really helps my p. A GP advised me to try this. Just please be carefull how much you use it.

I know about the long term problems, and i am fair skinned as well(well, more translutant to be honest), I just wondered if I shouldnt for P for any reason.
The girl in the shop said to start first session on 3 minutes. She didnt say how often I could use it. Do I go back today, tommorrow, day after...next week? ;D

LOL I was told to start at 3mins and work up to 5-6, never have done more than that and my place won't let you on more that 3 times per week with a day inbetween sessions.

i have a good machine at home but do not go mad in it 40 tube stand up try to do 3 times a week when i can staying around 5 mins at moment as taking MTX due to being light sensitive
just take your time and very slowly build up as you are fair skinned you might burn to easily

just take care

It is either coincedence and I am having a good couple of days, or else one session on the sunbed has done more for my P than any other medication/ointment has ever done! Scales all gone now...only the other day they where shedding all over and I was bleeding. Wow, long may this last :)
