starting infliximab / Remicade Diary
« on: November 19, 2009, 09:41:12 PM »
Hi all,
Will be starting infliximab next Tursday. I am  currently taking 2 x 50mg of Embrel and have been for about 2 years any attempt to stop or reduce the dose has led to a big flare up within a couple of weeks .The Embrel is now pretty ineffective  and the risk now out ways the benefit, so its time to move on to the next  money spinning wonder drug . Did try Raptiva and had a very bad reaction to the first dose, I think this drug has now been withdrawn due to the odd death. Anyway hoping to have to non live swine flu jab before next Tuesdays infusion of infliximab. Will keep you posted on my progress. Would be interested to hear from any peeps who have tried this one, positives only please I am worried enough about this drug.  :o

I've just had my second infusion of infliximab, and I have to say the results have been fantastic.  Only a couple of days after the first infusion my skin was about 50% better, now all I have pink, smooth, slightly dry areas.  Still the same size, but sooooooo much better!

Check out my "Remicade starts today" thread.

Good luck :)

Had first infusion yesterday, spent 8 hours at hospital. I was also given a antihistamine to reduce any itching. Went home feeling very tired. Woke up this morning and 100% of my P has gone flat, all itching and cell turnover has stopped. Right now i feel fantastic. ;D

Hello,

Is your skin white now or do you still have coloured patches?
