I've had NHS UVB treatment many times (I'm 47, and have been with P for 25years) and the UVB works really well, but it's inconvenient getting to the Derm unit 3x week, and they're very cautious in terms of their liabilities. Effective though it is, they limit the amount of treatment that is safe for them. In my case, I'm running out of NHS time - my 9 UVB sessions in my LIFTIME are nearly up. I'd really like to hear feedback from anyone who has braved the risk of skin cancer by going it alone with UVB sunlamps, or gone to the Dead Sea (where I'm thinking of going this year because I'm fed up!). If anyone has gone to the Dead Sea, I'd be really interested to hear your feedback - or from anywhere else in the anti-psoriasis planet.

The Dead Sea is good (although last year my remission was just 2 months), the problem is the cost . Dead Sea Travel for 3 weeks single board is about 3k. You can buy a UVB full length panel for about £1800 and it will last 10 years. The derms can't stop you treating yourself!
Another alternative is to go to Freegle ( You are not allowed to view links.

They are glad to give them away to get the space back and you get the bed for free. As I previously posted , you replace the tubes at £50 a pop and so you can have an operational UVB panel (full length) for about £450 !
