Very Very Grumpy
« on: June 10, 2009, 11:43:21 AM »
Hi
I am very annoyed. For those that did not follow my other thread, I am receiving treatment as an out patient for my P, which involves dressing myself in bandages and oinment 24 hours a day.

From Monday I started to try and get hold of the oinment that the hospital perscribed as I was almost out of it. However no one can get hold of it for 3- 5 working days. If I miss even a few hours it goes crazy.

The nurse told me just to moisturise until then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, if that worked I wouldnt be needing the treatment would I. Arh. so when I said that was not acceptable she relented and said I could come into the ward and they would do it for me tommorrow and Friday to keep me going. She told me I needed to order oinment in advanced, in rather a snotty tone - Well that is all very well and good but that doesnt help me now, and why did they not tell me this last week.

Every day there are new patches coming up. There is now not one place on my body that I am free (I know this is proberly normal for many of you, it is just this condition has gone from 0-60 in months).

And if one more person tells me to get out into the sun I will scream. The Drs have told me not to go near the sun while I am being treated. Also a  complete stranger told me yesterday to go to the Dead Sea. I nicely told her I have 4 children with a self employed husband, so where would I find the money for this?

Sorry, I just wanted a rant  :)

You poor love, makes you wonder what these so-called profesionals do all the years they're meant to be learning to do their jobs, doesn't it? And I so hate it when people who have no idea try and tell you what you should be doing, why can't they just shut up! Good job we can come on here and rant, otherwise we'd spend most of the time shouting at people, eh?

Rants are a godsend!  ;D  If I couldn't rant about something then I'd go mad :P  Sorry to hear you're having a very bad time with this.  With 4 children you don't get much "me time" do you?

I do not want to shout, I just want to cry now. I know people mean well, and maybe I would say the same things, however until you live with anything you just dont understand it do you. I am 33 and feel 83 (maybe partly due to the PA that they consultant doesnt seem to be interested in)

They have not asked me at the hospital what I do for a living, they just presumed I do not work - I fortunatly work from home, but that does feel like the point. I could not do this treatment in any other enviroment. I also spent half the afternoon yesterday trying to source bandages that where long enough to cover my limbs - I presumed it would be easy, however after three chemists later they have had to put them on special order.

Thankyou Ellieh

It has been something that I saw on your posts the other day and I have been considering it. The lack of potatoes and tomatoes may be hard to live with, however i am sure anything right now has to be better than living with this
