Hi again Ollie ;)

Glad to hear you're still clear! :D

And well, if I get a steroid rebound (on the face), it's usually within a day or two :-/ But with my brother, it takes about a week to ten days.... He has been using tons more steroids than I have though, maybe that has something to do with it. ???

So again, it's something that varies depending on the person.... this being said, I think it usually become apparent quite quickly, so you may just have escaped :D :D :D

Keeping fingers crossed!
:D

Hi, just an update on the Elocon.

Having not used the stuff for 2 weeks now i am still clear on my face, and the Exorex is helping my p on my arms.

When i first wake up i can see some tiny patches starting to creep back underneath my eyes.

Im very pleased though, not bad for using the stuff twice!! I just hope it works aswell next time.

Glad to hear it has gone, Ollie!

My old GP gave me a tube of Elocon for a patch of facial P and said 'use it extremely sparingly for no more than 8 days'...I also cleared mine within a day or 2 and had no problems with rebound. It is strong and I have only used it once since...I don't want to use it and thin my face too much!

However, my derm absolutely refused to let me use it on another patch I got on my face some 6 months ago...it's funny how different docs say different things! I did trust my old GP though, particularly as he worked as a derm in the local hospital...

Anyhow, good luck with the Exorex (my skin reacted very badly to it - so it's funny how different people react differently to the same things!).

That's great news Ollie! :D

For the patches around your eyes, try to catch them while they're still tiny, and moisturize them big time with an eye contour cream - works for me! :D (I use chamomile eye contour from the Body Shop, but there's loads of others... :) )

Keep up the good work! ;D

Hi people, i woke up this morning and the patches have got worse. There were even some new patches!  :(

I have put the Elocon on and it has dulled them down again.

I will try the eye contour cream that you are talking about Des, sounds good!

Oh well, im a little bit upset that the patches have returned, but i cant argue, they were gone for two weeks! (almost) so im just hoping the same will happen again...

It just shows you have rapid the p lesions can develop! mine literally grew in 6 hours!

When i wake up and see p on face, it puts me down staright away, and i feel very low all day  :(

Oh well,

Thanks for you help people

OLLIE,

i was perscibed snylar by my gp for my facial p.  worked very well for the first few weeks.  then had a break from using it bcos its a steriod cream.  next time i tried it........nothing!!  but i do tend to build a resistance to the creams after prolonged use, does anyone else have this problem? ???

Yeh, i used the Elocon twice and it cleard my face completely, it last for two weeks then my facial p flared up again, i used it twice again yesterday and today and the patches have gone, almost! though i can't see it lasting for as long this time. I think eventually my face will build up a tolerence to the Elocon.

I visited my derm today mainly regarding the p on my face. I only have very small amounts of p on my leg and elbow which are almost clear but the face remains a problem.

I was first prescribed hydrocortisone by my GP which did absolutely nothing. I then started using Synalar 1 in 10 Dilution which helped marginally at first but didn't clear it. Some of the p goes of its own accord then either comes back or reappears somewhere else on the face.

My Derm seems to be very negative indeed and offers me absolutely no hope whatsover. He will only prescribe Hydrocortisone for my face which just has no effect at all. He says he is stopping me damaging my skin and saving me from myself by keeping me on this mild steroid rather than using anything stronger. Why do i continue seeing him?? Perhaps it might be time to start looking somewhere else.
