Women on Cyclosporin
« on: January 17, 2012, 07:43:20 AM »
Hi! Haven't posted here in a very long time... but, ladies, I have a question!

I have been on Cyclosporin now for 9 months or so after coming off of MTX. (It didn't agree with my liver)
It's working reasonable well... still large and very sore patches on my arms but anyways, on to my point!

I now have a full blown moustache! My belly is hairy. My arms and legs are ridiculous and yesterday I found 2 long wiry chin hairs.
Is this normal? I mean, I am quite fair haired and never had any issues at all before. Will this go away when I stop taking Cyclo? Or should I invest in an industrial strimmer?

don't worry this hypertrichosis is a side effect to cyclosporin treatment and it will disappear after treatment

Well that's reassuring!
I did mean to ask my derm last time I saw him but there was a student there too and I felt a little awkward approaching the subject. :P

Yes all very normal.....I went from Ciclo to MTX so from slightly hairy to hair loss!!!  Glad to see the back of both those drugs!  Learn how to do your own waxing its so much easier and better results!

I washed the tash twice.... AGONY! Now, I will only bleach.
The rest isn't as disturbing because covering up is what us P sufferers do best :P

Just glad it will go away eventually!

Thanks everyone :)
