Assemble your own UVB sunbed
« on: January 25, 2012, 12:53:56 PM »
Has anyone "built" their own sunbed? I was thinking of putting 9 new Phillips TL101 tubes into a used canopy, say an Elite curved 9 tube single canopy and saving £800-900+ on a new unit from one of the recognised UK sellers. (And I haven't looked at ebay etc. for a canopy yet). Has anyone self-assembled and if so, what set-up worked for you? Many thanks in advance...

hi, Crazylegs & Welcome

i converted my old up/over uva 18 tube to tl1o1 a few yrs ago now, i even put extra fans in
but  got tolarant  to it  !  hoping 1day it will help again

have a read of the risks, how to check skin/moles etc
make sure your old sunbed tube end caps match with new tubes and best to stick to the same wattage
and your timer is spot on

there loads of info on here well worth a search

Would anyone know if Philips T1 100W/01 UVB tubes would fit into a Philips sunbed model HB554? This is an 8 tube canopy and normally takes the Cleo performance tubes but its more whether the UVB tubes would work with the Cleo starter?
