Autumn Dead Sea Trip 2010
« on: July 19, 2010, 11:18:20 AM »
Hello everyone

THIS AUTUMNS GROUP DEPARTURE DATE WILL BE THE 18TH SEPTEMBER

Okay, we now have the prices, details etc for the autumn 2010 trip to the Dead Sea in Jordan. Please email me at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login if you are interested. I will then email the info to you because as with previous years, we are not allowed to advertise the prices/hotel details on an open forum.

Firstly, for all those that have never been before have a read here>>

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

This article will give you a good insight as to what a trip is all about and should answer a lot of your questions.

Secondly to all those that have been before (not those who went last spring) and those that have received the info from previous trips - READ THE INFO CAREFULLY AS THERE ARE CHANGES TO THE PRICING STRUCTURE.

So everybody can read them - please post your questions here for me to answer. However, I cannot answer questions here regarding cost, this will have to be done via email.

Once I start getting confirmed bookings, these will be placed on this thread so others can see and allows first timers to tie in with people that have been before.

Lastly, with previous trips this thread has become too long with important info being lost amongst the dozens of posts. Therefore can we keep this to relevant posts only and not chitty chatty stuff ;)

THIS AUTUMNS GROUP DEPARTURE DATE WILL BE THE 18TH SEPTEMBER

Cheers
Paul

Was thinking about flying out on the 13th-14th sept from Manchester with Turkish Airways via Istanbul (£371). If anyone thinking of going around the same time from Manchester then lemme know and can share the cost of transfers to the hotel.

Plan B- is to fly from Manchester via London with BMI (£440) or Royal Jordanian (£420) on same dates if anyone interested in that.

Plan c- 2 weeks in Margate.

Dear All,

Just following on from  Paul's email.

I am also suggesting a secondary group date of Saturday 11th September for those that want to travel for 3 weeks rather than 14-15nights.

I am travelling on Saturday 18th September for 15nights flying BMI Heathrow -Amman.

Once people start to book up I will post the update of who is travelling when

If anyone needs any further info just shout.

Cheers
DSG

Hi everyone!!!  :)

Wow, thank goodness for this forum!!! I'm a long-time psoriasis sufferer, and after numerous medical treatments have decided to go the 'Natural' route and visit the Dead sea. I have a few questions and am hoping someone can advise me. I have enquired with the standard travel agent (not specialising in group bookings) and we would like to take in Petra and some sights as it will be a birthday and anniversary trip, whilst taking advantage of the much needed sun and sea.

1. Is the date and place of departure fixed/flexible? We live in Holland and were thinking of leaving 23rd or 24th September for two and a half to three weeks. Having half a week for sights, and two at the Dead sea.

2. Is there a difference between the Israel and Jordan side, with regards to the sea/climate/hotels etc? This would have a bearing on where we go, but I'm gearing towards Jordan.

3. I understand you cannot quote prices/hotels, but is it a significant discount compared to a standard Travel agent? What is included/excluded? There is a particular hotel we are interested in, are there any other hotels you have group bookings for?

4. Are transfers included from the airport to the hotels?

Thank you for reading, and I hope my questions don't sound too ridiculous, hope to hear from you soon!

Munchkin x

Hi Munchkin,

I will answer the questions that I can here, the costs and hotel details I will email (I can see ur email addy in ur profile).

1. You can choose any date you wish, we only organise a group date for the benefit of lone first timers so they can meet up with a regular. 99% of people travel on their own.

2. The only difference is the quality of the hotels in Jordan, they wipe the floor with anything Israel can offer and that goes for the food too. Climate and sea etc are the same, I have been to both sides and clear 100% everytime. Only slight downside to Jordan is the lack of facilities outside the hotel compared with Israel but to be fair the hotel grounds are so nice there really is no need to venture away.

3&4. This deal knocks mega money off the standard travel agent prices. However, the costs are comparable to a 3 week stay on the Israeli side with a specialist agent but you get so much more for your money in Jordan along with a far, far more pleasant stay. Our price includes transfers but not flights and if required, the services of a derm. We only deal with the one hotel.
Always look on the bright side

Thanks for your response and email!!!!! Have emailed you back!!  :)

Q. Is it necessary to see a doctor there first before I start basting myself in the sun? I've had the usual UVB treatments and know the drill with moisturising etc.....

Thanks

No, not at all. Should you have any concerns you can always see the derm just for one appointment and pay locally rather than commiting to the whole trip. If you coinside your trip with regulars you will get all the help and guidance from them, at the end of the day climatotherapy is down to common sence.

It forms part of the border between Israel and Jordan, I don't think you can actually buy it though Carol.  ;D ;D

Sorry, couldn't resist. Mattie and DSG are the fonts of all knowledge on the subject so i shall defer any more information to them.  ;)
