Bath Puva
« on: December 13, 2011, 12:28:08 PM »
Hiya
Last Friday i finished bath puva  I had 30 treatments and yep it was a struggle im glad i have finished just cant wait for my body to get back to normal and start earning over time again  :D
It would take me 2 hours each time i had a treatment  so i had to make up the time for work bath puva is very time consuming and many times i wanted to pack it in as i would be tired and sore for a few days and then when i felt better back in the machine again i cant wait to feel normal again i was a good girl i only missed one treatment due to me being on antibiotics  O0
the nurses were great i had one incident when i was in the bath theres two doors to the room even though the door was locked this man unlocked it on the other side and came in when i was in the bath i was mortified this strange man just came in after that the nurses put a sign on the other side of the door so it never happened again but sometimes i would hear  the door handle being turned and i would grab the towel just in case  :-[
even with the hassle of parking at the hospital and losing out on over time at work and being sore and tired and a strange man walking in  on me was it worth the 7 months it took to get rid of my psoriasis and my answer is YES IT WAS  :D
But unfortunately im not totally clear i still have a couple of patches on my bum and thigh but i have no pain no itching so im very happy with the results i have never been this clear since i got p nearly 10 years ago now
my elbows and knees are totally clear i can see my knees again i haven't seen my knees for years they have always been covered in p and i have a nice tan too
i just hope my p stays away for a long time

Congratulations Emms for your good results! I have also done bath PUVA a couple times in the past and had good results too, but having also had regular PUVA I didn't see any difference with it results wise. The advantage of course was not having to take a psoralen pill and have side effects from it.
May your remission last long!

Well done for putting the effort in and getting the results!!!

Can your work dock your time for treatment?

That's pretty poop...  I should count myself exceptionally lucky that my work gives me the time off, although I do attempt to make it up!

That said, I could likely get signed off, and it would REALLY come of out their pocket then ;)

yep i have to make up the time if i have a doctor appointment or anything like that i have to use my lunch break for it  but the treatment getting there and back would take me about two hours so i had to make up the time i would come in at 7.30am and use the extra hour in the morning and my lunch break for treatment been doing that since may and yep my work got very funny about me having to go for treatment which made it even more difficult for me but what can ya do i just hope the p stays away for awhile cause i don't fancy going through all that again

because i had a nasty eye virus a few years ago which damaged my eye site  and my gp/derm decided it wasn't for me as it would make my eyes sensitive to light so that's why i had the bath option
