I never had any pets when I have had bad outbreaks of P (the worst being 90%).  I have had cats and now have two dogs and neither have made any difference.

I had P before I foolishly took in two cats & having them made not difference to my P LOL now have 5 cats & P still the same  ;D ;D ;D

Just wanted to say that as  veterinary Surgeon, often dealing with the many skin conditions our beloved furries come to see me with, I can definately tell you that pet hair makes no difference to P...  ;D. P is not  an air-born allergy (ie it is not affected by contact stimulae) Unfortunately, all the mysterious and frustrating patterns of P occur under the skin.  Ive had P for 12 years and the only thing that ahs ever worked for me is UVB.  I was 75% covered and after 4 months came out completely clear.  18 months on the P is only just beginning to come back.... Im usually at the front of the que when any creams or topical medications are being used in trials ( often use myself instead of a dog or cat...lol) and although they give some light relief, you just cant beat UVB. Unfortunately it is also the most damaging as I have noticed a large increase in wrinkles and skin sagging due to UVB.  Ahhhh.....where is the justice in this world hu?

Being the owner of an african grey, a double yellow headed amazon, 2 parakeets, 4 dogs, 4 cats and a rabbit I can honestly say that I haven't noticed a difference and I too am about 80% covered in p. Personally I think that pets are a definate must for stress relief. Everyone has there own thoughts on that subject but pets are a must for me ((:y.
