Hi Dave,

There is no problem going in April although the hotel rates may be higher than later in the summer as it is effectively their high season. One other thing is that the days will be shorter and cooler in April and possibly a slight increase in flies.

I still may go out in June so feel free to give me a shout if you fancy going out then.........it is cheaper in June, hotter and less flies!

Good luck whenever you choose to go!

J.

P.S. Israel v Jordan............no contest!

Hi J

Wow, thanks for the prompt reply. Good point about the length of daylight in April (and the flies, I remember those little buggers!). I'm taking some time off work just now (IT Contractor, one of the few benefits) and hence me toying with a visit to the DS sooner rather than later. However, I'm not doing too bad at the moment with my P (thank God it's been kinder to me than in my 20's and 30's) and so I think that even with shorter days I should still benefit. It seems a better option to do this than badger my doctor for another 12 weeks of UVB and infinitely more pleasurable. Mostly it's my legs that are proving stubborn with the topical steroids, with a little on my trunk area and the usual elbow problem. As with some others I find that I can get around 6 months free of P after UVB treatment and/or a long sunny holiday and then after that it's slower to return and responds better to the creams etc. In fact light treatment is the only treatment that's ever gotten me completely clear.

Dave

PS. It's really great to read and learn about other peoples experiences with P. Real people with real advice, wish I'd taken notice years ago.

Hi Danny,

Start off with safe, short exposure during the early and late sun from day one then gradually build up to 5 hours a day but always avoiding the sun between 11am and 2/3pm.

Yes, you do use baby oil from day one but a far better choice is the carrot oil which is available in the petra centre opposite the LOT hotel.

Paul
Always look on the bright side

Hi Danny,

Just out of interest why did you choose Israel over Jordan?

Blimey Gareth, you should pack your job in and become a Tour Operator!

That's one heck of a list.

Hope you all have fun.

Say hello to Viva 17 for me!  ;)

Yippee!!!! ;D
I'm booked! 1st to 21st May on same flight as Bridgey and Andy. Sharing with Bridgey again this year as its such a lot of fun! Just been perched on the edge of settee for an hour waiting for moisturiser to sink in to maximum effect! Not for much longer! Oh to be normalish for a few months! Bliss!  :)

Wish Lumpy was coming though!  :(
