Appointment cancelled....
« on: April 21, 2010, 12:37:40 PM »
I was due to see the Derm next Wednesday - had a letter today cancelling until July.  I am slightly miffed because I am having a bit of a flare and was hoping to have UVB...... but then I thought of how desperate I was two years ago and put it into perspective...... looks like I will be covered up for Summer... again

Thats pretty c**p,  especially if your skin is flaring :-\   Don't let it get in too much of a state,  phone and hassle them if you need the appointment!

Thanks Trish - I am keeping it under control with the Exorex - I got a bit spoiled I think having the UVB twice in just over a year :)  To be honest I was just so glad I was clear for my son's wedding ( silly how we ask for just one thing!)  - It is not sore - just lots of it and not nice to look at -  :)

tis c**p indeed joan...i've never in the years of getting p treatment at my hospial skin center -
had an appointment cancelled!..i should be counting my lucky stars indeed by the rate this occurs
to many other peeps here. :(

if i were to have one cancelled..i certainly wouldn't be happy to wait ano 3 months and would expect
to be "slotted in" somewhere within 2 weeks of the original appt....but that's me hun :)

I do get the odd appt cancelled. But I have never, ever had to wait 3 months for it to be re-scheduled! Normally, within a week or two.

Generally, they are cancelled because derm has a meeting or conference somewhere. Fair enough.

I suggest making a phone call and saying, although you appreciate the derm is busy, waiting 3 months for the next one is a little long and could they possibly manage to fit you in sooner...particualarly as you are flaring and need to see him/her.
