DERMATOLOGIST IN LONDON
« on: February 08, 2010, 10:42:23 PM »
Hello,
My name is Elena and I have had scalp psoriasis now for a very long time. I tried many things: traditional medicine, diets, homeopath treatments. When it seemed to start improving (with  :othe homeopathic products and loads of Bikram yoga) I had a raod accident, which I suppose brought out a lot of feelings and emotions. So, now it is actually getting a bir badly again, spreading on to my body, and I would reallyl ike to find once and for a all a great dermatologist, who can help me finding the right treatment. Possibly, without taking too many aggressive medicines, but something personalised and focused on my very problem.

Could anyone reccomend a doctor like that? I would relaly appreciate any help.

thank you very much

Elena

it should not be a problem to go there

i have gone past creams and currently on 4th lot of Biologicals

there is a great team there you might be seen in Guy's
but treatment if you need day care uva etc would be done at St Thomas Hospital
they will decide your best approach to help you

good luck Friday :)

Hello

I think it is highly unlikely a GP would refer you to a consult derm for scalp psoriasis alone. This is not to say that it isn't bad, rather a GP would be expected to treat this without the need of a derm, seeing as said GP would be able to prescribe anything a derm could for the scalp.

By 'aggressive', I guess you mean steroid topical application. This is about as 'aggressive' as it gets for scalp P!

May I suggest this: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login ?

A derm would offer this...and it is now frequently used in both in and out-patient derm depts. It may well help...
