Dovonex scalp solution discontinued uk

Have been using Dovonex scalp solution for years with great success. However the GP and pharmacist state it has now been discontinued and to use Dovobet instead. I am not happy to use the steroid based alternative as have thinned facial skin due to over prescribed steroids for my scalp.

Any non steroid alternatives that people are aware of?

Hi, you can still get the alternative to Dovonex Scalp Solution under a different brand name. I think its called Calcipotriol 50 micrograms/ml Scalp Solution by Sandoz.

I was just looking for recommendations for solutions to scalp legions, just wondering what this Calcipotriol stuff is like? I use the Dovonex ointment and it works moderately well.

Was about to say similar... Same with actual dovonex cream/ ointment, it just goes by what it actually is rather than it's trade name

I have been given this Dovonex solution but I find that when I use it, it causes red patches of psoriasis to appear on my face, which, I get very self conscious about, today I told my wife to not look at me!

The red patches on my face have been going, but only after many weeks have passed, having said that, I have them now for the last two weeks and there is no sign of them dying down yet.

This disease is crippling in so many ways.

And many people don't understand this, which is why research is slow, since its not immediately life threatening like other conditions such as cancer; yet it's more psychologically affecting.
