Indeed......but I thought since you were discussing thermals and 12 tog duvets you were alluding to the fact that the central heating should b switched off and rely on other methods of keeping warm?  The face, as I am sure you are aware, is one of the most difficult areas to cope with having psoriasis on from a psychological perspective therefore, for those of us who have suffered from this, it's important to find a method of reducing pain, discomfort and the visible signs of our psoriasis  :?

My skin gets really flaky if It cant breath due to wearing lots of layers, and I tried last night with no heating on and a bobble hat pulled down over my eyes and face was still dry this morning, plus I was freezing when I woke up! My eye lids are actually cracking and bleeding just during the day today, and have moisturised them 3 times already  :(

So today I've ordered a soothing eye mask from Amazon and tonight I'm going to try the balance with the heating on low, bowl of water and the window open abit.

Face P is the worst area for coverage in my opinion and can feel my self confidence draining daily walking around knowing I have dark purple patches scattered all over my face for all to see  :-[

I think the Inuit–Yupik peoples skin has probably adapted abit better to the cold over thousands of years of wind chill and maybe they also use fatty oils from animals to help  :-\

I'll happily move to Oz Pie... might just stay in India next year!!!

Looks sore Jamie, poor you, glad to hear that its not quite as bad though. Have you tried Elidel on prescription from GP its not a Psoriasis drug but for Eczema.  I used it on my face a few years ago when it was particularly bad and I have to say it was one of the few creams which actually gave me some relief and fairly quickly too.

Thanks Liz, It's bloomin sore when it's dry and goes dark purple  :( !!

I hadnt heard of Elidel before, and quick search on netdoctor looks like it's a similar treatment to Protopic..

Have added to the list to ask the Derm at the end of the month! I havent had much joy with other face ointments and creams in the past so would be very happy to find something that worked!! Still tempted to buy a UV lamp just for my face and hands!!

Jamie sorry to hear and see that your face is so sore. Have you tried Elocon. I was told about it by a colleague at work who has Eczema, i was saying that my neck is sore and cracked and she allowed me to try some and i have to say it worked.
Sadly what works for some doesn't always work for others WE all know that but it may be worth giving it a go.

does look bad jamie - you on the list for some uvb - that will clear it ??? a few things work for me in the past  never had it that bad though on face - im not a fan of creams at all dont get me wrong but i did have success with betnovate i think it was use sparingly  it did reduce the redness and get the skin back to normal only ever worked on the face though..

I had uvb and puva in the past and didnt help me, although my face and hands do tan well and during the summer (providing we have more than a week of sunshine!)  the patches fade away.. I only really suffer in the winter so a cream might come in handy to get through a couple of weeks when it starts getting bad.

Betnovate used to help out when I was young, but recent attempts hasnt worked, bit like things like Polytar, that used to work on my scalp when I was young, but last time I tried it I had a bad reaction and my scalp flared! I guess we get used to treatments and become sensitive to things we may have used to much off??
