HLB-27
« on: February 15, 2005, 11:27:34 AM »
hi, all

can any 1 explain or post a site that explains in laymans
term IE plain english HLB-27+ and undifferentiated
arthritis
many years ago my rheumy run blood tests and 1 of the results was hlb27+ and undiff, when asked to explain what this meant to me, he said in simple terms if there's
anythink going to do with p you can bet you will get it
and yes ive' been diagnosed with a long list of p related
diseases, my new rheumy now says because my last
blood test esr are low" my pains are neuro related and
does not want to see me again. so i replyied to
my under standing of esr levels they  are only used a guide in making a dia/ you havent asked for more xray/mri or mentioned my old 1s,let alone undifferentiated IE means that i dont produce antigens
so there for my esr levels will be low and yet i can be
in severe pain, he just got up and walked out !no doubt  another red mark in my files,

so if there is somebody out there who can put
udiff/hlb27+ in simple terms i will be very gratefull

my gp says i dont understand all your illnesses but i will
you keep on your meds

hi,
dont seem to be any/many of you out there
who have been told they have the hlb27a-b ?
still i think my rheumy kept quite,it was only
when i asked him to refer me o some1 who new what he was doing he told me, i cant find out much like everthink else with this disease, they call them selfs consultants/prof/and then admit
its a complicicated disease and they only grabing at straws,!!! are well

apparantly the HLB test as been around since
1932 and easy to do it is a
microscopic coagulation test, it can identify both
current and potential physical problems and detect degenerative diseases 5 to8 yrs prior
to their symptomatic manifestation in the body

Hi David I did some Google searches on the subject and didn't find anything clearer than the link you posted, A bit of a learning curve to say the least. I think the test is useful in helping diagnosing AS but it did not seem clear about what else or the ramafacations of the test.
Have a look at some of the links on this page

For some reason it prompted me to search for HLA-B27 not just HLB and that gave more results.
