Generally any contact with water tends to make my P redder and more noticable. After bathing, showering or even shaving it really highlights the affected areas but does gradually settle down. I have to give myself at least an 1 1/2 hrs to get ready for work in the mornings just to give it time to settle down. I have a bit of P on my face so if the forecast is for rain that day I always take an umbrella with me. Just another example of the daily forward planning I have to do in order to minimise the impact of P on my life.

Totally agree on this one...

I have also noticed that different water effects me in different ways... Sounds odd but at home I have very hard water and at my parents its very soft. When showering/bathing at home my P always looks worse. Just a thought, maybe totally unrelated.

Got to agree regarding the soft/hard water. My p becomes so sore when showering in hard water i have to double up the moisturising as my skin goes so tight. P flares up almost overnight when holidaying in hard water areas ;) Flo

This is a good point and thinking about it I moved to my new house about 12 months ago. And started having bad flare ups about 10 months ago... I see a possible connection!!

Think I'll rush off to the DIY store tomorrow and get one of those mains water softeners and see if it helps :D

dry heat from the gas fire also reddens my p on my face.
