Decloban-miracle for my feet!
« on: November 17, 2009, 07:17:13 PM »
After 3 years of having severe psoriasis on the soles of my feet and toes, which cracked, bled, and made walking(and workng) impossible, my new derm has prescribed Decloban, a thick ointment, and what a miracle! My feet are like a babies' bottom, and I can walk anywhere! I did exactly what the derm advised, 1 week of this ointment, and 1 week with a vaseline moisturiser and cotton socks on at night-it worked, and also on my elbows. Soooooooo happy! I can even put up with the scalp p, because I don't feel like a cripple anymore!

Sounds really good and I hope it lasts for ever. :D

I am similarly afflicted and my GP doesn't exactly abound with suggestions and I don't know what to ask about.

Decloban seems to be connected with Dermovate?  I have that, but nothing seems to help.  Can only wonder if it would be even worse without it.   :D  Anyway my GP fixed a podiatry appt and the kindness of the podiatrist did me good.  She patiently carved a lot of the dead skin off my feet (yuk!) and told me I could return if I got into a pickle again.  But I feel I've got a new-ish start.  She also recommended Flexitol heel balm.  I just hope it really works as I've ordered a large tube.

If I'm on the wrong slot, please forgive me.  I don't know where to go with all this and so many folk are so much worse off than me.

Does anyone know - is it OK to use baby wipes for cleansing (hands and feet) as water sets up a nasty ITCH and then I can't resist a hard rub which doesn't really help much!  Baby wipes feel kind.

Pathetic, isn't it?  Second reference to needing kindness - I'm a selfish old misery.
