Hi Angela,
I had a look at the picture of your arm.
Looks like Plaque P to me. Salyclic acid ointment based medication should get rid of the scales.
But it looks very very vivid. Is it sore? Itchy?
What do you normally use to suppress it ?
Areas are large so treatment application should be relatively easy.
Ask and get as much advice as you can here then, without prompting your new Derm, see what the diganosis is and what recommendations are made.
I think then ... you ... should know if you have a good or bad one.
Wishing you every luck with your new Derm' !
Hope it settles soon ...
Short sleeves for the Summer!
Hoping for the short sleeves Tom!

It is plaque p - that's one thing I know. I have already been to a derm before but he was pretty useless. Over the years I've used mainly Elocon (nasty steroid one) and Dovonex.
I had UVB but didn't get to more than a minute as I completely broke out in even more p and reacted really badly to it.
I went through a period of doing nothing but have been on Dovonex for the last 6 months which worked well at the beginning but isn't doing anything anymore :-/
The little blighters are really red - made worse by the fact that I'm so pale I'm translucent!! And they itch so much! gggrrrrr...
Still - I'm pretty good at not scratching it but just catching it on somethign is a pain..
and sitting down can be uncomfortable with the stomach patches.
Still - part of me thinks it has got worse because of my new job and more stress. I've realised I can't let work get the better of me and have signed up to start Pilates in Feb so hopefully this will all help to relax me!
Funny thing is - I still go swimming and to the jacuzzi at the gym but won't wear sleeveless tops :-/
Ah well... am waiting for the appointment to come through and time will tell I guess...
thanks for the support
