so it is an autoimmune, there is also another site that also states it's autoimmune and that patients with colitis can be affected with this also.

Hey Val

Thanks for that, don't know why I never put the two together??  :-/

Got this from the site below:
For reasons we do not understand, about 75 percent of autoimmune diseases occur in women, most frequently during the childbearing years. Table I(left) lists the female-to-male ratios in autoimmune diseases. Hormones are thought to play a role, because some autoimmune illnesses occur more frequently after menopause, others suddenly improve during pregnancy, with flare-ups occurring after delivery, while still others will get worse during pregnancy.

Hmmm, well I don't intend to have anymore children, so I wonder if my P will improve when I hit the menopause?? :-/ I'll let you know in about 20yrs or so  ;D

Hi Val,

you asked for it, so here is my whole story:

It all started when I was 5 years old. I visited my aunt, who had a real snowwhite Persian cat. I didn't even touch her, but my eyes got swollen and I couldn't breath anymore.
We all didn't think about it anymore, because I didn't come intouch with other animals anymore...
When I was 8 years old, the psoriasis showed up for the first time. After that nearly every year something else hits my health: heyfever, allergic asthma, a "normal" asthma, allergies against animals, another skin desease, food allergies etc. etc.
I guess you feel the same way, sometimes I'm soooo fed up with everything! The worst thing ever happened was last september: I had an asthmatic shock and fell into koma (long unconciousness). The fear is always right next to me and I am so angry with most docs. Everyone of them trys to heal one thing but doesn't care about the rest...
But as I said before, I try to think positive, I try to give a smile each day and sometimes it helps...

And don't you think noone will read this, we've all proofed you wrong and that helps you a bit I hope!
I am concerned and willing to listen, I know how much one needs it sometimes!!!

So keep on smiling!

Julie

Thanks for the replies peeps.

So it would appear that a lot of us have more than one condition, it also looks as if like mine a lot are connected  :o
Julie, you are spot on each specialist in one field does not seem to care what the others are doing for you  :( I am definitaly going to keep on to my lot to try and get them to work together for a change  ;) because I believe that untill the medical profession gets its act together, we don't stand a cat in h*lls chance of getting these things sorted  ???.
Anna,
Had a hysterectomy (aged 27) so I don't know about the baby theory, as both mine born before that, but going through the change is no fun and my skin probs developed after age 27. But will keep my fingers crossed for you in about 20 years (thats if they are not too bad) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

lol

Hey,

I buy my cotton gloves from either a supermarket or the chemist. The problem with the gloves is one size fits all! Yeah right they are huge on me and looks like I have 2 foot fingers lol :P I have small hands but i have to put up with it if I wabt my Pustular P to get better.

Have you ever been on MTX? if you have drop me a line would love to chat, even if not would love to catch up with a fellow Pustular P sufferer.

Any advice or help would be greatly apprieciated

Well I am not sure if it is just me or has this topic about gloves got a bit mixed up, well I am confused but thats not hard.

I thought that the original enquiry was what to wear on your hands in the bath/shower while washing hair, so as not to agrivate the hands, while I suguested latex gloves as doctors and nuses use and many have found these the best I am somewhat confused as to how the cotton ones have somehow slipped in, surly these are not any use in the bath/shower to help the hands during washing hair/body?

Or have I really lost the plot here?
