MTX and Cilicaine VK Capsules

Hey just got Tonsilitis and am on Cilicaine capsules, also on MTX was wondering if it is safe to be on both at once.  The doctor told me it's ok but his not a very good doctor he prescribes anything you want, whenever you want so any info will be great.

As it is a form of penicillin, there is a chance that the side effects of MTX might be increased. You might feel worse while taking both...however, it isn't written up as a 'no no' and you will only be taking it for a short time.
