We had venison casserole and a lovely bottle of red - yum. Unfortunately putting yucky cream everywhere is a passion killer :-[

KP  is your skin red as well it could be that you may be Eythrodermic, I have been Eythrodermic  few times and its horrid my skin is hot and red and im freezing, May I ask if you have experienced any shivering episodes, if you have please go and see your Gp.

I too can sympathise with the hot / cold debate im freezing and my better half is always hot.
Heat Vampire is what they call me face bothered .....nope.  Sadly Baby D white wine is not my friend  >:(, the last time I had a glass it dried my skin out to the point of rigor mortis not nice, now red i have no probs with.

Sometimes I shiver. Even when I am tucked under a duvet, I still feel cold.

Thanks for the advise, I will ask my GP

My skin is hot but I am so cold all of the time, I just can't get warm. Does anyone else have this and is it P related?

Kath

How hot is it?

As this can also be sign of an infection.

The redness in our skin is caused by the blood vessels being closer to the surface, and is also why we cut and bleed so easily. One of the primary funcations of the blood vessels in the skin is to aid heat loss. If you loose too much internal body heat, you are at risk of hypothermia, so you need to be really careful when having a bad flare. I ended up being hospitalised because of it when I was 11, sitting in school with a cardy on, shivering, during one of the hottest summers we'd had!
But as JD says, it could also be a sign of infection. I don't mean to try and frighten the life out of you, but p is more than just a skin 'problem' and you need to take care of yourself.

Hello.  A newbie here.  I have long had minor psoriasis but this last summer it went totally nuts.  80% coverage at the worst point and at least half of it at that point was  Eythrodermic.  From just above my knees to a point on my chest just below arm pit level.  With all that blood pooling, I had heat flashes like crazy and then chills often followed.  I started taking 1 gram of a fish oil/flaxseed oil/borage oil twice a day and 1 gram of evening primrose oil (three times a day the first week),  along with 1 gram of milk thistle and 2000 units of d3 twice a day.

The first, most noticeable change I had was in reduction of the eythro portion.  It took nearly a full week, but the red skin started fading and as it did, so did the heat flashes and chills.  At this point now, my P is down to less than 20% at most and  is fading steadily.  What remains is mostly stubborn plaque P spots, but they are just a ghost of what they were.  Maybe it is just a quirk, but from all my study, Omega3 oils do wonders for inflammation, blood flow, strengthening blood vessel walls, strengthening capillaries, and general circulation improvements.

I am in my mid-fifties and I had noticed that after going to bed, it took forever for my feet to warm up, prior to this outbreak.  After six weeks on this oil regimen, it is very much the opposite.  At times now, I have to stick my feet out from under the covers for them to cool off.  This is a change I can really live with.

I know a lot of people look down their noses at supplement options rather than "medicines", but milk thistle and the Omega oils all do have some strong supporting research behind them.  All I can really say is thank heavens for them, they did do wonders for me.

Oh by the way, wines really aren't my thing.   An occasional dram of brandy or cognac, however, that is a different story. ;D

Have a great new year, everyone.
