I jus started taking Neotigason containing acitretin.  Just wondering if anyone has been on them before and whether they genuinly work or not.

There are a few people taking Acitretin on the boards...and I am sure someone will be along soon to tell you their experience.

HI
I was on neo for about 8 months, started on a low dose combined with uvb,side effects were dry mouth,lips and eyes...and tiredness. The 1st few weeks are amazing, you can see results straight away  ;D...... for me it got 2 a certain point,and it only keep my p in a stable state  :(

Guy started neo the same time as me.and he good results,and has now restarted when p reared its ugly head again ....

What dosage are you taking ?

Yep I'm on neo and I am now down to 10mg again and its really keeping the p at bay.

I was on a higher dose (20mg) for about 2 months and then was able to down it.

it does work for me and the side effects have been minimal....I'm having my bloods checked again soon and I'm hoping that they indicated that things are okay...the only side effect I really get is an increase in my cholesterol  levels..

Thanx for your responses.  I've been started on a 25mg dose, does that seem like a lot?  The dry mouth I can stand, it's not being able to drink excessive amounts of alcohol that really bugs me!  Its only been a week, so I'm not expecting too much too soon, and I'm not getting my hopes up.

that seems about the right starting dose...... i would advise not 2 drink while on it,as it can effect your liver readings

goodluck with your treatment, and please keep us updated on your progress
