The guilt is terrible.  Aidan has had scalp p for the past few years and I just cringe whenever he says anything about it and he knows I am always scrutinising him for any marks on his body.  However, knowledge is a good weapon and you have lots of that at your disposal.  I hope her flare is brought into check very quckly!!!

Really feel for you, so very young. Thank goodness she has you both, who are knowledgeable.

One of my twins developed spots that gp confirmed were guttate all over her back, she is 16, but they have gone in a period of 6 weeks and her derm appointment has only just came up.
My 12 yr old is still fighting the flakes on her scalp, tried the alternative thread in that it was doogro oil but it irritates her scalp, now will have to get gp appointment for derm appointment even though I know that it is psoriasis.

Yes, feelings of guilt are normal, as a parent we are powerless to stop these things from happening, but by being there and supporting them through we will always do what we can for them. Please dont feel bad on yourself this was not your fault.

Sharon.

my daughter suffers from scalp p, she has tried different shampoos on prescription, and as her work uniform is black, she constantly had flakes all over her shoulders.  She popped into lush one day and came home with a bar of shampoo which an assistent recomended , the difference is brilliant,  the p around her ears has gone, the p on the hairline has gone. .. The bar of shampoo costs about £6-£7 and u need a tin to store it in, but it lasts ages, she has long hair and a bar lasts maybe 8 weeks.

Hi,

I would be interested in the name of the product, as my scalp psoriasis is very bad. None of the scalp creams/shampoos I have been prescribed so far have made any difference.

Thanks  :)

hi
well i got that wrong sorry.. its from 'lush' not bodyshop, daughter just got home so have asked her

the shampoo is called soak and float . she also uses something called snake oil treatment once a week also from lush

the shamoo bar does need a tin to keep it in and it doesnt look nice, looks kinda bitty/strawy. if u go on the lush site u will see what i mean, but daughters head has so improved with it...
