The p in our family runs thru my fathers side, and he comes from a massive family. The weird thing is it predominatley effects the males. Very few of the girls suffered. A sore throat triggered my p and stress does not seem to be a factor.

I've read with interest about sore throats triggering P...i am one of the lucky ones and i've had a couple of bouts of tonsilitis and i havent experienced a flare. Its interesting reading about people's triggers etc and finding out that its so varied. P doesnt discriminate does it!

My Grandma claimed to have had it when she was young and nursing. One of the consultants she worked with had a theory that it was related to soemthing in the gut.
In those days she had to give up work when she got married, and said that the p disappeared once she was a lady of leisure! I never saw any hint of it on her skin - so whether it was p or something else I don't know. My Dad reckons she used to say it to make me feel better about mine!

My Aunty (Grandma's daughter) developed it some years ago on the death of my uncle. Her's was really bad for quite a while and then over the years it has gradually calmed down.

No other known family connections.

My auntie has it, and me.  My brother claims to have it but have seen no evidence of it and he does like to have what everyone else has so he probably doesn't!
Think stress triggered my P, maybe a build up of 21 years of stress and it had to come out somehow!  Sore throat triggered my guttate, and still does!  Got one at mo, so fingers crossed I don't erupt!
