What size are they, groin and neck? How long have they been swollen? I've had moderately bad scalp P for 5 months. This is my third time it's returned since I first got P 7 years ago, about 4 months duration each of the first 2 times, this time it's lasting a little longer and is more severe. I can go about 1.5 years in remission, with weird periods of non-repeating seemingly random body P mixed in with the scalp P. About 5 months ago when my scalp P came back, I noticed a lymph node in my neck that I thought was swollen. Doctor said it is about 0.8 cm so there is nothing to worry about, particularly because in 5 months it has not grown and more have not popped up out of nowhere. I have an appointment in Feb for another checkup and I'll probably get a fine needle aspiration biopsy just to calm my nerves. I suffer from health anxiety pretty badly ever since I had a large hard growth removed from between my eye and nose. Luckily the growth was benign (basically scar tissue), but it gave me the old cancer scare, and coincidentally I started searching for lymph nodes. When I found them, they were 'abnormal' to me because I never felt these particular ones before so I freaked. ENT says they have probably been there all my life, or at least since I've had scalp P. He's probably right because on the other side of my neck, ever since I was a little kid (7-9 yo) I can remember having palpable nodes and never knew what they were until last year.
Long story short, your best bet is to ABSOLUTELY NOT WORRY ABOUT THEM. Do not obsess or constantly touch them as the stress and constant aggravation will make them worse. However, I still recommend pushing the doctor to at least measure the size/shape/tenderness/etc and monitor...even further I would personally push for an ultrasound guided FNAB. The way I look at it, why not take extra precaution? That's what insurance is for and the peace of mind will do wonders on your stress levels which make P worse anyway.
Hope that helps...
