Recently Started on Fumaderm
« on: January 01, 2012, 10:02:13 PM »
I have recently started on Fumaderm (just finishing week3). My method means I am now on three tablets (30mg's each) a day. Tomorrow I an supposed to go to four tablets a day. However, I am worried by the side effects as they are building up and getting fairly worrying including drowsiness, dizzyness, stomach cramps and light(ish) diahorea.  On the plus side my psoriasis has shown some improvement especially on knees and elbows.  I have read a few articles here and followed some discussions, but am finding it hard to absorb everything and find it hard to get to links. I see that many people say the side effects ease of over time and that it can take 3 months for Fumaderm to have real effect.  What I am unsure of is as I have a lot of side effects should I increase to 4 tablets on stay on three (next hospital derm visit 17th Jan) or go to four?

Hi Pizzabase,

Keep going with increasing the dose, if you can.

I started on Fumaderm in December 2010. I was pretty well covered in P until February 2011 when it started to get much better. The most annoying side effect that I have had is a continually runny nose. Other side-effects have come and gone.

There is a thread on this site called "Fumaderm how long does it take", which pretty much documents my experiences (and those of other people). All I can add is that, for me, Fumaderm has been the best thing since sliced bread.

Regards,

Daryl

Good luck on fumaderm it changed my life! Increase your dosage as advised the side effects can be a tad nasty but it was/is a small price to pay!

Crumbs didn't mean to start a war about lack of computer skills.  Thanks I did go to 4 tablets I just seem unlucky to get all the side effects together sometimes, some days are worse than others and when I first posted I was having a very bad day.  On the plus side I can see visible effects on the psoriasis, which I did not expect to see for months.  That made it easier to have faith with the medicine.  Thanks to al of you for caring about me, and or computer abilities.

Yep, Frost is my "best" Buddie. Well, in fact, he is my only Buddie! How sad is that?

I am a strong believer that the worse the side effects with Fumaderm the better it works!  Stick with it!  Rest when you can, drink lots of water, eat as healthily as you can.  A banana helps with the dodgy tum as does drinking peppermint tea!  Females have quite a difficult time with Fumaderm particularly around "that time of the month" as you tend to have cramping, bloating and proplems with body temp in general.

Ps don't bother with those two......bickering like old ladies  ;D ;)
