A pretty good piece..cheers SJ.

What I would like to see is some way of really getting this message across in a much more powerful way to non-p people.

The one thing that has stood out over the years is the TV series The Singing Detective...(unfortunately the recent film adaptation seems to have bombed) what we need is another exellent TV drama or film that covers the issue...or a major soap running a significant storyline on p ...

Tv wouldn't work I reckon as they have such a limited time for storylines (take Katie and her diabetes in Corrie) and it deserves more, but what about a magazine article BY a psoriatic?  I for one would be quite willing to be photographed with P on show and tell it from my point of view, which would obviously differ from everyone else, but a few experiences could be covered because each person is very different from another.  Have often thought of writing to the personal life medical bit in Take a Break about it, but it is not such a serious mag.  Sorry TaB!

I agree with Elaine...

In fact, I wonder if we could get a few budding writers here to write that sort of thing and hit a few of these mags...? At least one would come off!

Might be worth a try?

Just a quickie.    I remember daytime tv soap "Doctors" doing a P storyline.   It was about a teenage swimmer who suddenly got it.   All that happened was the doctor found her a long sleeved and long legged swim costume so that she wouldn't feel as self concious?! it made her stick out like a sore thumb.   Not very well handled by the programme makers at all.

I've often looked at those make-over things on TV shows and magazines and thought "You should try to dress someone like me then!!!!!!!!!!"

Wouldn't it be great publicity to get a group of us together and get them to re-vamp us, let them see the problem we have with hair, make-up, clothes etc... and create awareness of P?

Tells it like it is!
