Exfoliating?
« on: October 17, 2004, 05:11:01 PM »
Reading through some of the threads, I have discovered that some of you exfoliate.

I've never of doing it as I thought it would be too "harsh" and irritate the skin making P worse.

My calves and chins are 70/80% covered and I cant remember my legs being P free.  :(

If exfoliating would at least make them feel abit smoother that would be great.  ;D

What do you use? How often? any tips?

Thanks

i used to use a body file, but i have heard you can get gloves from the body shop or virgin vie (cant remember which one, sorry!) which you could try, which means you could apply as little pressure as is comfortable. :D

I have a pair of really rough bath mitts from the body shop...it hasn't been unknown in my past to use anything from a household scrubbing brush to 00 wire wool. Not that I'm into pain or anything ::)

Hi Marie

I exfoliate.  I use a natural sea salt scrub - with oil... so it doesn't hurt so much.

I am P free at the moment (thank god)... but, I exfoliate when I have it... so that it keeps it flat.

It works wonders for me.

You can use  shaving foam then aqueous and a loofah does work great for legs if you can have even a 10 minuite soak in the bath and you can do that every day,  remember to use loads of moisturiser

I use a body srub from sainsbury's (not sure if they sell it anywhere else) its in a range called 'naturals' or something like that and it is a shea butter and brown sugar scrub.

I use it every other day, the good thing about it being sugar that does the exfoliating is that is obviously melts as you scrub so it is very gentle but does the job, the shea butter is a great moisteriser and you smell divine after!!

Its £4.99 for a tub of it which lasts me about 2 weeks of using it every other day and I am head to toe in guttate P so thats exfoliating my whole body.

Good luck in finding a way that suits you!
