Sesame seed allergy?? anyone?
« on: July 14, 2004, 01:23:34 PM »
Whenever I eat burgers with sesame seeds on top of the bun, i get billions of tiny spots on my forehead and around the areas where the skin creases. When that happens i get all itch'mon'stitchy.

Ive totally stopped eatin the stuff but does anyone hear have a similar food conflict? If so, can you provide more info what it's all about, cos im missin me chicken burgers from the local Dallas.

I get the same reaction to dairy products, esp cheese, sometimes i just feel that its a good thing, keeps me away from the junk food, but then on the night out when me mates order the cardboard consumables, i crave for the them badly and i cant stop myself!!

I don't get any reaction to any foodstuffs or drinks...I have certainly never seen any kind of reaction to them on my P.

Which means I am either lucky or have a gut like iron I suppose  :)

Sorry, I don't think I am allergic to anything so don't know what to suggest.

Might be worth getting an allergy test just to be sure?

Anything is possible. Im allergic to milk, but only cold items such as ice cream and ice cold milk. My P gets a little worse but not alot when I eat these items.
My cousin is deathly allergic to peanuts and Ive heard others are allergic to any kind of nut or seed. As Koala said, it might be worth getting a test to confirm it, because at any time the severety of the reaction could get worse and might take you down for a spell.
Just like dermatologists and cures for psoriasis:
If you give a monkey a scrabble board, EVENTUALLY it will spell a word.

Live like a dog: If you cant eat it or hump it, "p" on it and walk away!

I have had two looks of food allergy tests and both showed different foods.  However they don't affect my P, just my IBS :-/

I hope you have not been using the instant ones currently in vogue in some health food shops. If you look around the web you will find that they are considered nothing more than quackery as they give different results each time the test is given.

How do they conduct these tests? How long does it take? What precautions are we to take in order for these tests to work at a satisfactory rate? Also, are they just called 'Food Allergy Tests' or other specifics?

I totally wanna sort my self out, be ma own man, the boss, THE KNOW IT ALL, all this time the P owned me, now its about time i owned the P. REVENGEEEEE!!

I have not heard of these??? The first test I had done was at the Alternative Centre (a thread about there on the alternative section of this forum) and the second one was done by a nutritionist using a machine (can't remember the name).
Personally I think the best way to know is to elminate the foods you either think are causing problems or some that you have read could be the cause.  then reintroduce the foods one at a time to see what reaction you get.  It takes about three months for your system to clear but I noticed a difference within a month - everyones different.
although I believe food has a lot of healing properties and can cause a build up of toxins, I dont believe that food is the cause for P. :-/ By adopting a healthier lifestyle and attitude it can only have a good effect on your bod and subsequently on your mental attitude. I do believe stress has a lot of influence over P.

The test I am referring to is the Vega test where the electrical conductivity of the body is measured with a machine with a selection of possible allergens connected
one at a time.

Sounds very similiar to the one which was used on me but it was called Mora Therapy which from a quick nose around the net just now is not really any different from the Vega.
I agree with your previous comment - waste of time!
