Seems there are 'upsides' to being a P sufferer after all!

I have always thought that P sufferers tend to have less sun damage and age less because

1. we don't let ourselves burn...slowly does it with P (and burn is not only the worst thing for P, but the skin too and higher risk of damage and cancer)

and

2. We slather ourselves in moisturisers constantly...far less ageing!!!

Here's to having ummm, lovely non-P skin and looking ten years younger than we actually are!

;D

A benefit to having p...great!    I remember being told something similar a very long time ago by one of the first derms I ever saw...I thought he was just trying to make me feel better...

maybe he was.... :-/

(I ain't kidding here people...those of you who have met Guy in the flesh can confirm the bloke looks incredibly young and handsome for an old bloke!).

;) ;D :-*

Be careful

I use to head for the sun to get rid of my P but I ended up
with skin cancer and skin damage.

See your point, Nico. And you're right. Excessive sunbathing heightens the risk of skin damage and skin cancer for anyone...

But had a discussion with a derm about this article yesterday and he agreed with me that 'most' P sufferers are extremely careful about using the sun as a 'treatment'. We tend to minimise these risks by not allowing our skin to get red or burned.

I have never had sunburn in my life. Not even got red...because I know it is the worst possible thing I can do for my psoriasis. The bonus is I am also inadvertantly looking after my skin too.

What kind of skin cancer did you have?
