smoking and psoriasis

since getting this  other p i have been searching internet for infomation and have read a few times now that smoking can trigger some p

so who smokes, and do you think it affects your p in any way

i am a smoker and dont know if i could stop even if i was told my p would dissappear

Guilty as charged I smoke and enjoy it and have put up with 'p' for 40 or so years on balance the nicotine benefit is greater than any noticeable effect to my skin

I used to smoke every day, but after a year or so of stopping completely, I started up again (socially, if there is such a thing). I can't say I've really noticed a significant trigger in psoriasis flare ups, but when I do smoke my skin dries out a lot more - especially on my hands... so maybe that could be part of it?

I used to smoke more when I was drinking more, but only smoke occassionally these days, and the most I've ever noticed from smoking was it made my skin more drier.

I stopped smoking on jan 1st last year and it has made no difference.
I don't believe it is a trigger but that's just me.
I don't suppose anyone knows. But what we do know is that smoking is bad for your health
So don't do it.

Don't worry, Frost will find the thread!

I smoke cigars, but smoked cigarettes for years before I got P. If I remember correctly there are loads of people who have never smoked and have P, and there are many who have given up and there has been little or no difference.

And there are probably loads of people who smoke but who don't have P. But how the h**l do they make a voice on this site?

Anyway, smokers pay far too much in taxation - Right, I am running for the battlements before the no smoking brigade throw something nasty at me!

i will search the forum  tomorrow/later today..

was just a query as my mam dont smoke, she has p. my son and daughter they have p but dont smoke and until i got this other p it was my son who suffered the worst from it, so in my family its the non smokers who suffer the most from p

but still learning about p, until a few weeks ago i didnt even know there was more than one kind of p
