I think Stu and Karen make a point when they say that all p-sufferers are, quote: "clumped together in one big group", the p-sufferers.
When we go and see the doctors or derm, they only see the p. They look at us and say "Well that's p!", and they prescribe something to treat the "rash" part
But I think there is an underlying part too, or "reason" why it occurs.
There are probably as many different
kinds of p than there are
reasons why it occurs. And without "treating" them as well, I think that it's vitually impossible to get rid of.
But what are those reasons?
I think we have to look at a wide array possibilities like: stress***, wrong foods (or reaction to certain products), pollution, fabrics in clothing, weather, illness, sleep(!!!), alcohol, smoking, other addictions (chocolate, coffee, cookies yes, yes(!!)

) were we live, what we do, regularity in your life, etc etc
And although all of us here may be different individuals and all have p for different "reasons", I am convinced that, if we all wrote down our "history", according to certain criteria, that scientists would be able to find similarities between us and be able to "categorize" us. pA, pB, pC.... (btw I wanna be a PA

)
***However, I think the word stress has been misused over the last couple of years. It has become an office/work related disease, which it is not!
The word stress expresses a state of being that can be triggered by numerous things, occurences and situations.(Oxford -
stress: 2a demand on physical or mental energy.
b. distress caused from this;
stress disease a disease resulting from continuous mental stress). So stress is ALL ABOUT your mental state and attitude!!
But POSITIVE stress can be "stress" too! If you f.ex. are really, really, really, really excited by something (good) that has (is about to) happen(ed), that too can put a demand on your physical or mental energy. Not? So, unfortunately, stress is with each and everyone of us, whether we like it or not. But for it to be able to affect us depends completely on HOW we deal with it. That's why some people "don't have stress", they deal with it (sub)consciously.
So I think it all about control. Controlling those parameters that causes them(both stress and p), and I would like to rename stress SOOTP, which may not look very nice, but which I think explains it nicely

System Overload On That Parameter.

This could all explain why the doc sometimes doesn't get you the right treatment straight away (or at all :-/ ), just because he doesn't examine the "underlying cause". But for him to do that, he would ofcourse have to talk with you extensively, examine you, etc etc etc, and hey, this is 2002, and time is money

(Obviously, if you have to wait 18 months to see a derm

(btw knowing this is the case in the UK and thinking of the fact that here in Belgium, if I really want to see a derm today I WILL(!!), gives me SOOTP

)), but at least try to get your money's worth and talk to him extensively (they don't charge by the word or minute in the UK, do they??

) Make a list the day before so you don't come outside and and realize you forgot to tell or ask him something

.
If you have the feeling that your GP hasn't got a clue what he's talking about DEMAND

for a specialist !!! Tip: Keep calling doorbell until he does, go and sit in his waiting room every day in shorts and tshirt, follow him EVERYWHERE (usually does the trick

), etc etc or come to Belgium

(a 1 day ticket is very cheap, and I'm 1000% sure there's a derm in Ostend who would love a couple of thousand UK "customers"!!! btw I don't live in Ostend and I'm not a derm

but I would be happy to find you one

.....).
And I think that Guy just posted, the first step in getting rid of your p, in a beautiful way, very Reiki Guy!
Quote:
"Perhaps happiness is good for p and sadness isn't - maybe its as simple as that - my god!
lets find the best ways to be as happy as possible all the time - is this feasible without some form of medication??
guy "
Unquote.
And don't forget, this IS something you can do on your own, without a doc, and ya' wanna know the best part?? it's free of charge
(most of the time...

BC=££ )
Positive thinking!!
