e45

Hi all, been a while since I had any P and well the joy of p has decide to come back to haunt me on my face...to say the least I am pretty upset right now, anyway to the point, after a wash/shower my face becomes very dry where the p is, it almost scales over instantly with water.

So I moisturise it well and have been using e45, is it normal that it stings like hell for about ten or fifteen minutes after putting it on then slowly calms down sting wise? skin also looks more red after applying it, although I kinda thought that was maybe normal cause it was being covered by the flakes which were more skin coloured lol...just wondering will any moisturiser do this? I remember doublebase used to do this to me also when putting it on....any help greatly appreciated.

Hi There, I'm not going to pretend I know anything, but I gat the same with E45. my eyes get so red I look like a Albino Panda lol... Funny but I actually don;t mind this as much as having scales on my eyes. Anyway I have also used Vasaline Dermo cream and that stings as well. As you know, you do get used to it especially when you know it only lasts for a few minutes.. I've also got P on my groin area so you can imagine what it's like... I did however win a Irish Dancing contest the other week, funny though I couldn't remember entering it. ;-)

Good luck :-)

Hey OrbitaL

E45 contains lanolin and that is the reason it may sting you. It's not the best moisturiser for p. Have you tried a vegetable based oil ? I use almond oil. No sting, no increased redness, reduces inflamation, absorbs really well, stabalises your plaques and lasts longer without disrupting your skin further. You might look a bit shiney to start with but it is good natural stuff. Get it from any organic shop or even most supermarkets.

If it stings then its not doing your P any good. Try nivea for men extra soothing. I swear by it.

Hmmm just stings initially though and I apply before bed, but in the morning the p is sooo calmed, hardly even visible...so even though it stings I think I will keep using it lol...

thanks sue :)

Maybe check that out too, thankfully my face has totally calmed from using the e45 even with the sting lol.

Maybe just had a few bad days, aint had any P in ages and just woke up the other day and face was well bad out of the blue, but its nearly gone again...strange eh, but the e45 is doing the trick, I just wash face gently with cold water and moiturise before bed and its all good :)
