Well I have had some ayaveda treatment and it wokred for me but like most things you have tio keep with it and the there are a whole host of things that should not be eaten but I don't have the commitment and yes I get hot and so does the skin wherever the P pops up.
As for sunbathing naked I'd be there as it's only the P that  holds me back and in a situation of not being alone I think its a great stress buster after the initial get your kit off bit. Hopefully I can get to the DS

I have been doing the nude sunbathing bit at the DS for over 20 years now and I can relate so much to what Guy has written.

I have always said from my very first trip that yes, getting shot of the p was great, but the biggest plus was the help mentally a visit there gives.

For the first time in my life I was around others with p, people that cared, talked and helped me understand how to live with p when I got home. Those peeps on that first trip gave me more support, understanding, tips and help than any derm or GP had ever done.

When I got home the DS had done what my derm and GP had failed to do - cleared me and I was so happy. I had a certificate that the derm at the DS clinic had given me and I could not wait to pass this on to my GP and show him my skin.

I sat down in his office and passed him my certificate, he looked at it and as he tore it in half, screwed it up and threw it in his bin, he said what am I supposed to do with that? He refused to look at my skin and showed me the door. I doubt I was in his room for more than 20 seconds.

Talk about knock the wind from my sails... >:(

Always look on the bright side

Fortunately I have a good GP who understands and is open ot new ideas, failing that anyother doc I meet these days if they are condicending anyway gets the full brunt of "I'm the customer and the NHS is not free I pay taxes and I have probably more insight into P /PA then they do as I suffer with it"
I no longer sit there and take what they say I very vcal with them the get the same amount of respect that they give me!
Well got a bit off time off now maybe I can get to the DS.

Hello everyone

part of our strategy to get Sunbating Naked into the community of those of us who are blessed with psoriasis is to give second copies of the book to people who have bought the book, enjoyed it and can think of someone who they'd like to give a copy to.  If you fit that description let me know and i will get a copy mailed to you.  I wrote the book for all of us, and I want to get it out there!

GUY KENNAWAY

Hi Guy

Great idea!

I've sent an Instant Message to you with my details.

Guy  :)

Thank you Guy, that's a fantastic idea. I've said this in the IM but I'll say it here too; I really think you have done us all a huge favour in writing such an honest account of what it's really like to live with psoriasis. It's not easy for 'non-sufferers' to appreciate how profoundly it can affect people's lives or how different people find ways of coping. But I think your book illustrates it perfectly and didn't miss a thing!

So thanks again!  :)

Shocking. What a thoughtless GP  >:(

It's wonderful that you found so much understanding and support at the DS, and a way of clearing your p of course. Fantastic post  :)

Hi,

I have just finished reading this book and I thought that it was great.  I think it must be the first book that I have read completely within a week!  I noticed the website below that was mentioned at the end of the book which is where you can post your comments about it.  I looks like noboby has done this yet so I am sure that Guy would appreciate some feeback.  I will write something on there today.
