UVB - Three weeks in...
« on: December 05, 2011, 05:50:40 PM »
Went to see my GP about  P on the back of my hands which has become super resistant to just about any lotions and potions out there... I got a shock when she said do you think some UVB would help as her opening line...

So my referral went through, two weeks later I was right in to having UVB (after the initial assessment)

Three weeks in now and what a difference already!

Smooth red/pink P with no scaling...

Never had this much improvement so quickly of UVB!

All that and I have the beginnings of a nice winter tan! Things are looking good for the first time since I don't know when!  :D

whoohoo well done Mike!!

I cant have anymore light treatment, i've exhausted my lifetimes 'quota' of being nuked apparently. I had PUVA when i was 16 and then again when i was 30.

sorry to hear that Maria. Funnily enough, normal sunshine makes my P worse but PUVA sorted it out...well the first time anyway, 2nd time wasnt so effective.

I am being referred to a Derm, I'd like to try PUVA again, I had great success in the 1970s with it. Until then I am using my sunbed at home. I know, not a great idea but sun does help me loads.

My P was fine when I lived in South Africa.

Until then, moisturise, moisturise, moisturise.
