Worried!
« on: January 03, 2012, 07:24:19 AM »
I have scalp and nail psoriasis which come and goes and is mostly relatively mild. T Gel usually sorts my scalp out and I am prescribed Dovonex for my nails.  I have also had the occasional small patch on my face, but these have always been small and never spread.

In the last month a rash developed on my breast bone between my breasts. I thought maybe that my bra had been rubbing my skin so ignored it initially.  After a week or so, the rash joined to make a big patch and became quite red so I realised it could be P and started using Dovonex on it.  Several weeks on and I can see lots  of other little red spots appearing in a vertical line above and below this larger patch.  Now, being a girl, this is not a great place to have P!  I fear it is going to spead so much that I won't be able to hide it under my clothing.

It doesn't appear scaly and only itches at night and I really try not to scratch it.  Dovonex has had no effect whatsoever.

Also, It is spreading to an area around a raised mole that i have and I am wary of using Dovonex close to or on the mole.

Does this sound like P and what else can I do?

hi, pinklepurr

there are a few p look a likes, yet alone types of p  ! sounds  like it could inverse p
same goes for moles there are diff types

if its been ongoing for 4wks  best to get a  refferal to see a derm and get checked out
and a confirmed diagnoses

your gp could send a sellotape skin scrape /swabs for histalogy report
to help  speed up a diagnoses

Thanks!

I have made an appointment to see my GP on Friday.  She was able to diagnose my nail psoriasis where others had failed so hopefully she will be able to take a look at this latest problem!
