You are What You Eat

hullo gang!

anyone been watching this CH4 prog?

i've seen about 3 episodes and find it compulsive and stragely voyeristic and fascinating.

i'm very interested in the effects of foods on our bodies and minds.

anyway - i bought the book last weekend and it is amazing!  i'm only about half way thru but i fully plan to follow some of her recomendations.

i like her attitude of 80/20 which means if you fall off the wagon it's not the end of the world.

anyway one of the things that really impressed me was she lists chocolate as a cause for certain skin conditions.

over the last 7 months i have experimented with dairy free and pretty much isolated my trigger to chocolate.

hopefully the book will give me some easy to follow recipes coz that's the only problem with the TV show.  she spends too much time on the bad stuff people are eating and not enough on how she switches people on to her alternatives.

check it out if you've the time or inclination and let me know what you guys think too.

8 Pints of Oil a week?

I don't really eat chocolate and my P is fairly bad, I think there are a lot of combinations for all different people, I'm off beer at the moment to see if it helps, but I hate not being able to have a pint which is stressing me out, vicious circle.

hi twam

yeah i fully understand everyone is different and has different triggers but..........

i forgot to mention i get PP on hands and feet and her comment was specifically about chocolate and hands.

i tried a wheat free diet for a while and had to give up the beer too - didn't do me any good at all apart from a small weight loss and i developed a taste for cider!

:)

ive missed this!  try not to eat too  much processed meat and only have wholemeal bread.  Don't know about giving up chocolate though - got to have some pleasures in life!

I've been watching the program too and have also bought the book.

I find it fascinating the things she picks up on. I was a bit disappointed that although there is reference to Ezcema there is nothing on P.

David,
Whether scientifically proved or not - I am proof that diet changes work on the P!!!
