hullo gang!

anyone been watching this CH4 prog?

i've seen about 3 episodes and find it compulsive and stragely voyeristic and fascinating.

i'm very interested in the effects of foods on our bodies and minds.

anyway - i bought the book last weekend and it is amazing!  i'm only about half way thru but i fully plan to follow some of her recomendations.

i like her attitude of 80/20 which means if you fall off the wagon it's not the end of the world.

anyway one of the things that really impressed me was she lists chocolate as a cause for certain skin conditions.

over the last 7 months i have experimented with dairy free and pretty much isolated my trigger to chocolate.

hopefully the book will give me some easy to follow recipes coz that's the only problem with the TV show.  she spends too much time on the bad stuff people are eating and not enough on how she switches people on to her alternatives.

check it out if you've the time or inclination and let me know what you guys think too.

Yo Glamorous One - Try a chocolate like Lindt - Which states on the package "May contain traces of milk"

I bought 6 blocks today  :o ;D

I too have been an avid watcher of the programme as my diet is c**p just now - rarely seem to have the time or the ennergy to cook properly and have been doing a lot of comfprt eating since my divorce so the weight has plied on - and I mean plied on!! So, having seen the dramatic changes to the 'guinea pigs' on the programme I was inspired and resolved to follow the advice after my holidays - no point before as I am so weak willed when in Greece! But, at £9.99 the book looks like a waste of money! I stood in Smiths and skimmed most of it quite quickly, pages made of very thick paper so not as thick as it looks! It repeats much of what was on the programme, including analysis of your tongue and poo to spot vitamin deficiencies but I know pretty much what I am doing wrong! There is little in the book about how to prepare the right foods apart from a list of 'good' things and just a few recipes. I was very disappointed, think I would only use about 1/10th of the book but might still give it a go as long as Tescos sells most of the food stuff - no use hunting for such unusual things as no time to travel miles to a Health Food Shop each week! I would love to hear if anyone here actually uses some of the recipes, perhaps we could have a Cookery Discussion Board!!
