Billy -

Papaya is excellent as an aid to the digestive system. It's very high in a proteolytic enzyme, papain. Papain is used commercially as a meat tenderizer and digestive enzyme. It is often mixed with bromelain (derived from pineapple) as a combination digestive supplement, which is used to augment weak digestion and enhance absorbtion of nutrients.

Papaya can be purchased as a supplement. Recommended dose is two or three tablets before meals. Reduces heartburn, dyspepsia, belching and flatulence.

Not that it applies to you, but parasites can also be purged with Papaya.
