A combined prebiotic/probiotic, it's symbiotic !
« on: January 17, 2007, 04:29:45 PM »
No im not kidding you, now the crazeis SYMBIOTICS. They are capsules that combine a prebiotic (friendly bacteria) and a prebiotic (A substance called FOS that feeds goo dbacteria nad helps them multiply, but doesnt feed bad bacteria). The idea being you are implanting the new bacteria into your gut and giving them a helping hand but throwing some food their way.

SYMBIOTIC-TASTIC

Anyway there are a few brands coming out, one you may find in your local pharmacy is called DTECTA. They have a number of products but the best one for psoriasis would be their anti-bloat as it has th emost prebiotic in it. @ 7.95 for a weeks supply. Those that prefer powders to capsules could try this one.

Or if you wish to buy onliny then i would recommend MEGA-PROBITOIC ND from You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login @ £15.99 for a month supply.

I think its interesting stuff because in theory probiotics should help peoplw with psoriasis a lot more then they do. So perhaps the missing link is that the good bacteria are dying off cause they are not being fed enough (possibly due to psoriasis patients poorly abosrbing some butrients) so witha prebiotic inclucded the good bacteria have a chance to feed and multiply

This might be a dumb question...but hey, why not!!!  I know that yogurt is a good source for the good bacteria (probiotic)...is there any food that would act as a kind of prebiotic?   ::)
