A fishy story?
« on: April 12, 2007, 12:16:50 AM »
One of the guys in the office sent me this link today, and I wondered if anyone had heard anything about it?

It's a story that was in the Grauniad over the weekend, about "doctor fish" which (if the story is to be believed) have a beneficial effect on some skin conditions (including, naturally, the Big P).

The treatment involves sunbathing.

My belief is that the fish eat the scaly bits leaving the pink P skin exposed . When you sunbathe the rays go direct to the P rather than be deflecyted by the scales....hence great results.

A good moisturiser and a rough flannel will have the same effect
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me...than a full frontal Lobotomy!!!

Sent to me by a reporter, Matt, who is trying to do a story on this whole therapy.

Has anyone actually tried it here?

Do we have any Canadian members who have tried it? I know Matt has a newspaper in Canada who are interested in publishing an article about psoriasis and this therapy....

Replicas went.

The last I heard there was a lot of bad press about the place because of the dirty, scab and blood infested water.

As suits said, a scouring pad, bottle of baby oil and a trip to Spain would probably have the same effect.
Always look on the bright side

Replikas went, he also visits spas in Turkey which is great for the skin.
Basically a lot of the spas in Turkey are enriched with a lot of minerals and such ( selenium is one of them!) The high level of salt is very beneficial also.
With Sivas/Kangal Fish, they basically nibble the patches which expose the patches to minerals in the spas and the sun thus clearing you, but you do need to go every three months or so to maintain it!!

I know a few people who have cleared but I could not have fish nibbling me! Personally I would rather go to one of the very high class spa centres in Izmir etc get scrubbed, and massaged and go in the sea with the sun and eat their healthy fruits and vegs and no doubt the old skin should improve!

PS..I am not Turkish ;) though I go a lot to Turkey so I could be classed as Turkish! ;D
