A load of bullocks (or rather buffalo)
« on: January 18, 2005, 04:52:18 PM »
Did anyone else see that program last night about buffalo milk?

There was a farmer who has a herd of (I believe) 400 buffalo, and is producing various products such as milk and ice cream.

It seems to help some people to improve the condition of their skin if they suffer from excema or psoriasis.

There were 2 (I know only 2) shown cases on there last night. One guy said he saw a definite improvement, and the other case (ayoung boy) seemed to show some improvement. Both people had only been drinking the stuff for 2 weeks though.

Hardly a fair sample I know, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

One thing broke my heart though. The little boy was allergic to cows milk, but his doctor had recommended that he drank it anyway (I guess to eliminate further problems due to vitamin deficiency). The poor little mite had to be covered in topical treatments every day.

How unfair  :(

I bet Aussieguy has already found the research on buffalo milk  ;D

What channel was that on?

I just did a quick search and found various sites to do with buffalo milk (apparently Delia rates the Mozzarella made from it)

I will try to find out (have forgotten myself).

The farm featured last night was on this site You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The farmer was saying that it was not really viable at the moment, but he was doing it anyway.

I remember 20 years ago hearing the same positive benefits of goats milk. Spent a whole month drinking the disgusting c**p with no benefits at all.
Put your buffalo milk money into a penny share - in a year it might have made enough cash to get you to the dead sea.
After 34 years of false hopes thats where I am heading.

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me...than a full frontal Lobotomy!!!

Great comment oohsuitusir :)

Thank goodness there is something which seems able to help most people.

Even a copule of weeks in somewhere like Tunisia seems to help me - the sun alone does a power of good.

On an unrelated website I saw the comment "its easy to cure psoriasis - move to a hot country"

Not a cure, but a big help for a lot of people. I was even told by a derm once that people from hot countries often begin to suffer from P once they move here.

Is it a coincidence/the lack of sun/the stress/etc etc?

Who knows  ???

;D
