Aalgo Skin Treatments .... be careful !
« on: June 26, 2010, 11:58:34 PM »
Hi folks,

As I've explained earlier, UVB once again cleared my body of plaque/guttate P, but unfortunately didn't quite clear my scalp and when I finished UVB it seemed to worsen somewhat.  On a search for a maintenance regime - dismissing the cocois and diprosalic - I came across Aalgo products being sold locally at a market.  I bought a large tub from the salesman who explained that both he and his Dad  had P and developed this product which is in powder form and comprises four different seaweed products.  I was advised to use this on scalp mixed with natural bio yogurt - it smelled a bit - but I persevered and used it on 3 occasions.  It caused my scalp to worsen I believe, certainly it didn't improve it one little bit.  There is a money back guarantee with this product which I intend to return, however, upon reading reviews on the net, it seems people have had difficulty getting their money back, but ..... upon buying I told the sales person that I will be his worst nightmare - and intend visiting the market at peak time to advise of my experience with this product.  Of course it may work for some, but  it certainly hasn't helped me at all !  I did say to him, upon buying that if this worked, I would spread the news far and wide .. .. sadly that's not the case.

Anyway guys, I guess I'm pretty desperate for something that helps, Seavite (cream) helped me in the past and still does (skin moisturiser) and so it lead me to believe that this Aalgo, comprising of seaweed would help too.  I would steer clear, knowing what I know now, and as I'm true bottle blonde, it caused my hair to dry out considerably; the natural oils such as joboba, coconut mixed with lavender are far more beneficial in my experience.

Hugs
BB

Hey Tom

Thank you for that, am gonna get the Rosemary Oil tomorrow and add to Shampoo, actually I've got some Elemis Exotic something (it's based on natural oils) and I have put on scalp overnight washing out with Kerastase Shampoo for dry scalp and that has worked wonders, tho, early days and only tried it once so far.  Am so dissapointed with Aalgo products and feel like I've been a right mug as I warn everyone to be so careful with such products - it has made mine worse, certainly.  However, I'm hoping the natural oils now to incude rosemary will do the trick as I've not got a lot of patches on my scalp but would prefer see em gone rather than multiply, which can happen all too quickly.

Many thanks for link to that thread, dunno how I missed it in the past !!

Enjoy day

Hiya BB

I have had great joy in putting coconut oil on my scalp after washing/ drying. Bit greasy, but if your not going out anywhere, then it doesnt matter

Hope you find some relief  :-*

Thanks Jam, the new concoction of Elemis exotic  Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt (which is  a  blend of Coconut Coprah Oil and sweet scented Frangipani flowers) and kerastase shampoo for dry scalp, seems to work a treat - but I'm gonna get the SLS free shampoo and add 5 drops of rosemary as advised on the other thread.  I called Holland and Barrett and saw the Coconut Oil there, its for cooking purposes and they recommended the jojoba oil for plaques on scalp so ended up purchasing that one instead.

I know you've used many products, wondered if you tried hemp moisturiser from Body Shop, lady there told me it's most effective for P on torso.

Good to see you haven't given up !!  We'll find something that works yet ..  :) . nothin like being positive  8)

I find these natural oils help. The first is a hair and scalp oil from handmade naturals and the second is cold pressed jojoba oil from the same company. Alternate them at night for a week and you'll see a difference. Wash your hair in the morning with an SLS free shampoo. Good luck

golden jojoba oil (simmondsia chinensis), virgin organic coconut oil* (cocus nucifera), sweet almond oil (prunus dulcis), evening primrose oil (oenothera biennis), essential oils blend: rosemary, cedarwood, lavender, geranium, ylang-ylang; and nothing else.

Jojoba oil is rich in the natural anti-oxidant vitamin E. Traces of iodine are also found, along with protein, minerals and plant wax, plus myristic acid which provides its anti-inflammatory properties.

Elgrande, thank you for your suggestions.  I'm taking it on board and certainly giving those oils a whirl, will update progress - keep fingers crossed.
