Checked in for the first time in a while today...Am so glad everyone's still here and the boards are still buzzing!

I was mightily encouraged when I had a quick look at the Lab Board to see so many references to alternative therapies and diet references, and wondered if the time is approaching for there to be a Board dedicated to alternative approaches to managing psoriasis. Maybe something to consider.

[[By the way, love the nifty new way of skipping from one page to the next, Michael.  You think of everything!!]]

Hi asuris, good to see you again.

I like your idea and have asked the Mods of this board what they think.

I've been giving some thought to the idea of compiling a reference/guide to all things "alternative" relating to p - have to say, I think it's a great idea, leave it with me, got some family stuff going at the moment but I'll check back with this sooner rather than later!!

Just to let everyone know this has been moved from the Feedback Board so people can comment/give experiences on alternative therapies. The matter will be discussed by mods/admin.

I think it is a great idea, especially as I have been doing courses in Reflexology and aromatherapy and can see the benefits in them.
Have to say I volunteered to have an aromatherapy facial where I had lavender massaged into my face,  aswell as it being relaxing and soothing it really did moisturise my skin like nothing else and took the practically non existent bits of red away too.
Last week I had aromatherapy wax treatments on my arms, again, soothing, relaxing and when the wax came off you could see how it had taken away all the dead skin and made my arms look and feel loads smoother and less red.
I'm not saying it cures P but I did see a difference and it's lasted all week!  Tomorrow I am having a wax treatment on my face.
When I say wax, I don't mean the type that pulls hairs out of you, it's paraffin wax, very safe, and I think could be beneficial as it pushes oils into your skin so you get really deep moistrising, which is part of the battle with P.

Hi Lisalu

those treatments sound yummy!  bex used to have paraffin wax treatments on her hands when she had bad arthritis in her fingers, no oils though (NHS) but it really helped her.  Hmmmmmm........  I think I might try some with oils, I can feel a melting session coming on...........
