Clare, try massaging your whole head with olive oil, and wrap in a towel and leave it, for hours, overnight, if you can bear it, and have the time, some things arent so easy when youve got kids and work and so on, but give yourself some time and pamper yourself. You could try adding essential oils to the olive oil, lavender is good for soothing and healing, and smells lovely too.  :)

Wash the oil out using a nice SLS/paraben free shampoo, and plenty of conditioner. There seems to be a lot more on the market these and easier to get hold of, especially in the baby aisles of the supermarket, try the 'Halos and Horns' range.

I do feel for you, as my scalp used to be terrible, I hated how you could see it in my parting and used to wear thick wide headbands a lot, my p seemed to ease during my first pregnancy, 10 years ago, and has not been as bad since and also I dye my hair, which seems to keep it to a minimum these days. I do still get a dry scalp but nothing like it used to be.

Dance, when you're broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance, when you're perfectly free. -- Jelaluddin Rumi (13th century)

I found that everything made my scalp crispy. But I love polytar (like the Marmite of p medication!)

I mix 5 drops of rosemary oil with a handful of polytar and I find this stops the inevitable "ah yes, there's my scalp" feeling.

Hi
Instead of olive oil have you tried coconut oil it comes in solid form and then goes to liquid form as you rub onto scalp it does help.

thanks you for your advice. There are numerous reasons to include Krill Oil in your diet namely It helps to keep heart healthy, It helps in improving skin texture, reduces wrinkles and fine lines above all it is the best source of Omega-3 Fatty acids that is crucial in fighting infections and inflammation-related diseases. One of the product that I have used and impressed with its positive results is Krill Doctor Professional, it has decent price/ships free.

ok havent had this issue for years but this definatley worked for me back then, and i continue to use the shampoo to this day

if your scalp is itchy then its probaly dry and if it was as thick with dryed skin like mign used to be then  it just needs nourishing - best thing for me in this state is cocois - from the GP - stuff worked wonders...

the longer you leave on the best but a week of this treatment  will leave your scalp with no further dry skin

now for after treatment shampoo with Head & shoulders cool menthol - must be cool menthol - i have tried others but they just didnt work - also i have stopped using this & p came back so H&S cool menthol defo works.. may take a few months to get properly right but stick with it..

after shampoo use the derbac comb (if you havent got one of these then they sell them at chemists and they are metal) now where you were itching run this comb thru & see the dead skin come off - truly amazing what come off your scalp - quite sick tbh the 1st time you do this - anyway make sure you get all the skin off then put mopre H&S cool menthol on - i always try to leave shampoo & the condtioner for 3-4 mins each application.. youll feel the sting but honestly following these steps will give you a better scalp
