It explains the big NO for quinoa consumption, and I wish I knew this before as it was my only source of Carbs and that I used to eat at least 300g a day(!): You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

You'll notice that he goes on saying why all kind of grains are bad for people trying to find relief on a special diet for psoriasis purposes (leaky gut theory...), or even simply for all kind of P sufferers.

Have a nice day guys

So acording to him even oatmeal is bad if you have an autoimmune disease?

I guess so, and as a matter of fact each time that I tried Oats with water (not milk) I always ended with a mild flare up.

Then what should you replace oatmeal with? I can't be cutting down on the calories anymore. I'll start looking like a skeleton.

Ahhh the never ending argument about diet. I mean it doesn't have to be all black and white. Diets can be helpful for some and for others have very little effect. There is one important thing to consider tho and that is we have to look at the overal picture and not fixate on one specefic point. A good diet is not enough for us to be truely consider ourselves healthy. We shouldn't overlook exercise, sleep, genes, how we feel, the climate etc

Where do you get vitamin d from? I'd like to try it, am currently giving a healthier diet a go as it has worked for me in the past. So far not so much reaction from psoriasis but my emotional health has improved dramatically enough for me to reason that eating rubbish genuinely makes me feel like rubbish (in my head).

Also, I've tried to read the whole of this thread but it is HUGE. Is eating raw sweet potatoes ok on a daily basis? Just read a site which said maybe not due to protein inhibition?

I'm so excited I found this site/thread! I'm on page 61 and plan on reading thru the rest but it's taking a lot longer than expected so here I am reporting from the beginning. It's been real cool to see people start and follow through and push through and finally find results! And it's helped me a lot so I hope I can stick with it, clear this crapola and help someone else. I went tanning today for the first time in a long time to see if it could help and the lady said it's amazing how many ppl came in for P. We both also thought that when we were younger not as many ppl had it and now a lot of people have it. So progressively worse nutrition? Or maybe they were good at hiding it? It's on my hands and wrists now and I can't hide it anymore. A bit of background. Had scalp P since 15 and it's been cronic ever since. Then at a particularly stressful time I developed it on my inner thighs and I think my bung hole. Lol! Not proud of it but It itches sometimes so what else can I think? Then after giving birth to my second child I developed it slowly (but not slow enough) on one of my fingers, both wrists and on my left hand, a patch right above my crack and on both knees....so i figured it was hormonal. BUT NOW its starting on my right hand. Things have gotten progressively stressful since my first flare (two special needs children and just found out my mom has cancer in many places) and so who knows if its stress, diet whatever. As I read I find out it could many or all of these things! Anyway I finally said screw the doctors, they really don't know anything anymore and just continue their education by what the pharmaceuticals tell them. (I've just done steroid creams, various lotions, coal tar). Anyway i went online, found this a few days ago and Im on day 2! Nothing has changed as of yet of course but can't wait to see if it does! I'm really also excited just to get healthy! I have drank way to much beer for way to long (my drink of choice and obviously a big no no) so right there cutting that out is going to dramatically change the way I feel, and hopefully look before long! Plus i will certainly loose weight! Which makes me think that maybe b/c I started drinking beer pretty much as soon as my baby was here, that could be it and not hormonal like I thought...who knows. The only thing I have had both days is one jolly rancher, otherwise I've followed it exactly. I'm sure I will be cutting those out too. Shake is not bad, think I'll take out the broccoli and substitute it with spinach or kale for less of a pulp....the consistency is the worst part of it, although it's pretty smooth for the most part. My blender is a typical kitchen blender so I actually grate the veggies first in my food processor so they look like shredded cheese and in the blender it goes! Makes it way easier than chopping all of that anyway if you ask me And it seems fast! Anyway, that's my story! I will post pics, plan on following through and hopefully show you this works!

Oh and I'm going to an allergist on March 8 so hopefully that will help me and you figure things out! I'm praying they do one of those food intolerance tests.

I perfected my shake today! I had it just as recommended by Charles, and I actually liked the taste but the consistency was a bit grainy which was going to turn me off before long. After reading through 70 pages so far and taking others advice, I took out the broccoli and carrots which I think I'm allergic to raw anyway and added wheat grass & baby spinach and a quarter of an avocado which makes things creamer. For my fruit I had mango, pineapple and half of a banana. I think next time I'm going to take out cup of apple juice and replace with water. I want less sugar. Now I LOVE the shake. If anything, I'm gonna loose a ton of weight and certainly feel better!  Not gonna complain about that!

It's okay to take out if you have any concerns! People are substituting all the time. Try and take the time to read the whole thread!

You're right, he adds way too much sugar to his recipe. I achieved wonderful results with only one banana as sugar for the shakes. I hope you get to know what are your allergies soon because carrot and broccoli are a major component. Also don't forget much garlic&onions for sulfur!
